Prelude Players
Ages 8-14 | Beginning Violin
Class Times:
Every Saturday 11am-12:30pm
Prelude Players focuses on fundamentals for beginning string players ages 8-14. Students will focus on the basics of violin playing. No previous playing experience is required to be a part of this program and rental instruments are available for students interested but without access to a beginner instrument*.
Weekly sessions will be led by Director Thomas Todia where students will learn to perform together in an ensemble setting and be expected to display knowledge of basic material during a brief concert-like presentation twice during the academic year.
By the end of the program, students will be able to perform fundamental technique on their instrument, understand how a string instrument functions, be able to read basic sheet music, and be able to perform with others in a group setting.
